EP 272
As we move into the final quarter of 2024, I’ve been taking a moment to reflect on the last few months—what worked, what didn’t, and where I need to focus moving forward. In this episode, I take you through my personal goals for quarter three, and, spoiler alert: not everything got ticked off the list! While some tasks, like promoting my podcasting program, were successfully completed, others, such as launching my new business website, fell to the wayside. And that's okay! Sometimes we have to adjust our expectations and focus on what’s most important in the moment.
One of the main goals I set for quarter three was to create a brand-new website for Mapcast Media. However, as many of you know, building a website from scratch is a huge task, and unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make the time for it. Although platforms like FEA Create make it easier, it’s still a big undertaking that requires focus and dedication. That said, my promotion efforts for the podcasting program went full steam ahead, and while the doors are now closed, I'm excited to welcome a new cohort of students in on Monday.
So, why didn’t I get around to the website? Well, one big reason is that I’ve taken on a new 15-hour-a-week marketing role! For me, having multiple streams of income has always been important, especially after the unpredictability of the pandemic. This new role allows me to work on social media and podcasting while giving me the financial stability I need to continue growing my business without the stress of making everything happen right away. It’s a win-win situation, but it has meant I’ve had to make some adjustments.
With this new role taking up some of my time, I’ve decided to streamline my offerings. I’ll no longer be taking on one-to-one clients or new editing clients, as these services require more time than I currently have. Instead, I’m focusing on my podcasting program and offering VIP days to those who want personalised support to kickstart their podcast journey. This shift allows me to maintain the quality of my services without spreading myself too thin.
I know there’s often pressure in the business world to appear as though we have everything figured out, but I’ve always believed in being transparent with my audience. Running a business takes time, effort, and sometimes, a bit of trial and error. Not everything works out the way we plan, but that’s part of the journey. My new role doesn’t mean I’m stepping away from my business; it simply allows me to approach it from a place of joy rather than stress. I’m still here, committed to helping you amplify your voice through podcasting.
As we head into the last quarter of the year, my focus will be on serving my podcasting clients and getting ready for another program launch at the end of December. I’ll be taking a bit of a break in October and November to focus on my well-being and ensure I’m ready to go full steam ahead by the end of the year. So, what about you? What are your goals for the next three months? Let’s work together to finish the year strong!
