I still can’t quite believe it myself—this week marks five years of the Mindset & Action Podcast! What started as a completely different show aimed at supporting wedding industry professionals has evolved into something far greater than I imagined. Back in 2020, I was creating resources for a sector that was hit incredibly hard by the pandemic. Despite the original business model falling away, the podcast remained a constant. I kept showing up weekly—even when things felt uncertain—and that consistency is what I’m most proud of today.

The podcast didn’t begin with a bang, and that’s one of my biggest regrets. I didn’t have an audience or a launch plan; I just uploaded an episode and hoped for the best. But that messy action led to where we are now: over 300 episodes later, a chart-ranking relaunch, and multiple client successes from the podcast training I now offer. If you’re thinking about starting your own show, let my journey be a reminder that you don’t need perfection—just passion and persistence.

Over the years, I’ve had the joy of speaking to some amazing guests. A real pinch-me moment was interviewing Amy Porterfield, someone I’ve admired for years. But here’s the twist—while that was a dream come true for me, it wasn’t my top-performing episode. That honour goes to my chat with Diane Watson, where we talked about money mindset and protecting yourself in business. It resonated deeply with my audience and reminded me that content is queen—it’s the relevance and value that make an episode powerful, not just the name behind the mic.

Of course, there have been challenges too—particularly when I’ve fallen behind on batching episodes (hello from 10:49 pm the night before this one went live!). Life and business can get in the way, but I’ve learned that being consistent matters far more than being perfect. Even with a few ‘ums’ and ‘ahs’ left in the edit, what truly counts is showing up. If you’re producing content of any kind—blog, podcast, video—please keep going. Your audience is listening, even if they’re quiet about it.

Podcasting has helped me grow not just my business, but also my confidence. It’s given me a space to share what I stand for, champion doing business your way, and truly connect with listeners who value honest, grounded advice. I’ve also learned not to stretch myself thin trying to be everywhere. Having a strong presence somewhere that leads people to your podcast is far more effective than being scattered across every platform.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to bring even more clarity to the podcast’s four pillars: mindset, productivity, planning, and audience building. I’ll be inviting guests who not only have expertise but real-life experience applying these areas in their businesses.
